ProFormance Metals has acquired specialist tooling and machinery from Oval Tubes (UK), following the retirement of its owner.
We’re pleased to announce an exciting development for ProFormance Metals and our oval tube product range.
Following the retirement of the owner of Oval Tubes (UK), we have acquired a selection of the company’s specialist oval tube tooling and manufacturing machinery.
This is not an acquisition of Oval Tubes (UK) as a company. Instead, we have purchased the specialist equipment from the retirement sale, allowing us to bring this established capability into ProFormance Metals and continue developing it for our customers.
Oval Tubes (UK) has been associated with the supply and manufacture of specialist oval and flat-sided oval tube for many years with ProFormance Metals being the partners for any export orders. The tooling and machinery acquired will complement our existing capabilities and allow us to further expand the range of profiles we can offer.
At ProFormance Metals, we already supply a wide range of specialist tubing to customers across motorsport, automotive, aerospace, defence, engineering and restoration.
The addition of this equipment gives us further options when it comes to producing and supplying specialist profiles that aren’t readily available as standard stock items.
One of the main reasons we wanted to acquire the equipment was to ensure that this specialist tooling and machinery continues to be used within the industry.
Rather than allowing the equipment to disappear following retirement, bringing it into ProFormance Metals means we can build on the work already established by Oval Tubes (UK), while combining it with our own experience, stockholding and customer base.
We see this as a natural fit with what we already do.

This latest investment forms part of ProFormance Metals’ ongoing commitment to expanding our specialist tube offering.
Our aim is simple: to give customers access to more specialist materials, profiles and manufacturing options from one experienced supplier.
We’re particularly excited about the opportunities this creates within motorsport, where oval and flat-sided tube can offer significant advantages in terms of packaging, clearance, weight and design.
Over the coming months, we’ll be working through the acquired tooling and machinery, assessing the available profiles and incorporating the equipment into our existing operations.
